The Croatian U-17 National Team plays the second match of the tournament in Rijeka today
After they lost the first game to Italy, the Croatian youngsters will meet the Turkish team on May, 6. 2017. The guests lost their first match to Spain 3-2, although they had a two-goal lead. Dario Bašić, the Croatian coach, says that his players have not lost confidence after the defeat to Italy:
“We archived that defeat and moved on. We analysed the game, and the conclusion is that we were tactically up to the task, but some small mistakes determined the events which led to our loss. All we need is a bit more confidence in attack, and also, we need to take more risks there.”
The Turks had a two-goal lead, showing great individual potential, but not quite a tactical discipline, and that should be a chance for more disciplined Croatian team:
“We expect to have more room for attacking, the whole team is 100% motivated, and we are eager to start the second match. I see players smiling again, and we promise to give it all out on the pitch. We hope for a positive result, as we want to decide our on path in the last round against Spain.” added Bašić.
The kick-off for the game is 13.15 CET on Rujevica Stadium in Rijeka.
