Croatian tennis player Borna Ćorić defeated Andy Murray, the best tennis player in the world, in the eighth finals of the tournament in Madrid
Ćorić played a great match against the Scottish maestro, defeating him with 6:3, 6:3 in just under an hour and a half, Jutarnji List reported on May 11, 2017.
The Croat made a total of four breaks, while losing his service only once.
This win places him in the quarterfinals of the prestigious Masters Series tournament, awaiting the winner of the Dimitrov – Thiem match.
It is interesting that Ćorić made the main tournament as the so-called ‘lucky loser,’ after being defeated in the 3rd round of qualifications, as Gasquet had to cancel.
Ćorić and Murray first played each other in 2013 in the Davis Cup in Umag, Croatia. Since then they played two more matches in 2015, with Ćorić losing in Paris, but winning in Dubai.
The ride continues for @borna_coric.
