Marin Čilić Brushes Aside Tenth World Player and Enters Quarterfinals of Rome

The Croatian tennis player is through to the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Rome after defeating Belgian David Goffin on Thursday with 6-3, 6-4 after an hour and a half of play

Čilić served seven aces in the match, won 77 percent of the points on the first service, 65 percent on the second, took away his opponent’s service three times, while losing his own only once, Jutarnji List reported on May 18, 2017.

This was the fifth mutual duel with Goffin, ranked 10, and Čilić who ranked 8, the second win by the Croatian player.

In the quarterfinals Čilić will play the winner of the match between Swiss Stan Wawrinka and American John Isner.
