The show must go on!
At 9:00 am this morning, FIFA held a meeting with representatives of the Croatian Football Federation, the Kosovo Football Federation (FFK) and the officials responsible for the organization of the match where it was determined that the match between Croatia and Kosovo, which was suspended on Saturday, will continue on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at Maksimir Stadium. Kick off is at 14:30, announces HNS on September 3, 2017.
After yesterday's game suspension, there was intense communication between Croatia and Kosovo with FIFA and UEFA. A decision was made that a new meeting would be held on Sunday. Before the meeting this morning, the FIFA delegates and judges and team representatives reviewed the pitch at Maksimir and found it up to standards today.
Taking into account the FIFA Rulebook, which stipulates a mandatory resumption of the match within 24 hours if the pitch allows it, including the fact that it is almost impossible to find a new time to schedule the match, a compromise was made between FIFA, the two national teams, and UEFA that the game would continue on Sunday at 14:30. The game will resume from the 22nd minute when it was interrupted. The continuation of the game means that the same team members must be on the pitch that were on the pitch at the time of the interruption.
FIFA thanks both national teams for understanding and coming to resolve this extraordinary situation.
