PPD Zagreb Secure Champions League Playoffs

By 28 February 2016

With one round of group stage left, PPD Zagreb is through to the playoffs of EHF Champions League.

PPD Zagreb secured a place in the playoffs one round before the end of the group stage of EHF Champions League, overcoming Pivovarna Lasko Celje 24-23 on February 27, 2016 at Arena Zagreb. It was a tough battle throughout the game, and the win was secured in the last seconds of a game, with Croatian National team goalkeeper, Ivan Stevanović saving a shot by Slovenian player Luka Žvižej from the 6-meter box.

As the Croatian National Handball team is preparing for the Olympic qualification tournament, the good news for Croatian coach is Stipe Mandalinić scoring 10 goals and not missing a single shot in the game. Mandalinić was out of National team for the EURO, due to injury, so his form will be a big help, as some other key players are struggling with injuries at the moment.
