He's Not Retired Yet: Cro Cop Announces Heavyweight Showdown with Roy Nelson in London!

By 6 March 2018

Mirko Filipović is the latest mixed martial arts man to join the Bellator 200 in London this May.

Cro Cop suggested on Sunday that he had reached an agreement with Bellator when he published the logo and promotions of the event on his official Facebook profile. On Monday, Bellator announced that they had come to an agreement with Cro Cop, who will fight in London on May 25th against former UFC heavyweight Roy Nelson. Filipović already announced his plans to retire after his Rizin appearance during the 2018 New Year, and agreeing to compete at the Bellator suggests that he wants to have more than one fight this year, reports Gol.hr on March 6, 2018.

The 43-year-old Croatian fighter is currently on a roll of eight consecutive wins, including five consecutive wins at Rizin. In his last appearance, he defeated the Japanese legend Tsuyoshi Kohsaka in the first round.

We should remind you that Cro Cop lost to Nelson in the UFC in 2011. Nelson then celebrates in the third round with a technical knockout, and thus caused the Croatian fighter a third straight defeat for the first time in his career. Nelson is 1-1 at the Bellator, after joining the martial arts organization in 2017. In his debut appearance at the Bellator 183, he celebrated with a unanimous judge decision against Javy Ayala, but at the Bellator 194, he was defeated by Matt Mitrione following the majority's decision.
