It is round one of Davis Cup, Croatia is facing the Belgian squad in Liege
Davis Cup is back, and Croatia will play against Belgium in Liege in the first round of the World Group starting March 4, 2016. Matches will be played indoors, on a clay court, and it is decided by draw the first one to be played on Friday 14.00 CET is between Kimmer Coppejans, ranked 122nd on ATP ranking list and Marin Čilić, best Croatian player, ranked 12th. To hit the court after this are David Goffin (16) and Croatian youngster Borna Čorić (47).
On Saturday, March 5, 2016, 15.00 CET, there is a double’s match scheduled, and players nominated are Ivan Dodig and Franko Škugor for Croatia, and Ruben Bemelmans and Arthur De Greef for Belgium, but as usual, it can be changed up to one hour before the start of the match.
It is an even match, and the result is tough to predict. It's a big one for both teams, as the win would secure the place in World Group for next year, and a clash with either USA or Australia in the quarter-finals.
