Weather Affects Croatian Football Almost as Much as Mamić

Yet another game in the Croatian national football league is postponed because of a few centimetres of snow

The match between Inter and Hajduk, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, March 5, 2016, has been postponed due to bad weather and very poor state of the pitch. Both clubs quickly agreed on the postponement, and CFL commissioner, Josip Brezni consented.

This event once again raises questions about the licensing process in the Croatian Football League since, as we have seen in the past, clubs were denied licenses for more insignificant reasons such as the roof, number of available toilets, and at the moment, at least, three stadiums in CFL do not have the pitch that can stand more than one day of rain, let alone 10 centimetres of snow.

If there is no quality drainage system available, maybe getting a pitch cover as a condition of getting the license would be a solution? Did we mention that one club does not even have its own stadium?

And to get back to the subject of this particular article, the game between Inter and Hajduk will now be played on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, 17.00 CET (unless the weather decides otherwise).
