According to the latest information, a physical altercation between the fans of Zadar and Šibenik broke out this afternoon in Šibenik.
At 13:15, a physical encounter between football fan groups broke out on Jerolima Milete Street in Šibenik which saw the participation of dozens of young people. The event resulted in arrests and injuries, reports 24 Sata on April 14, 2018.
“I can confirm that 13 people were taken to the police premises. Everyone we took in was from the Zadar area,” said Marica Kosor, spokeswoman for the Šibenik-Knin Police Station.
"They threw chairs from the nearby restaurants; rocks were flying in the air. There was a loud quarrel, and then the chase began. When they realized that a man was lying on the asphalt and bleeding, the police arrived,” said a bystander who was still shaken by the scandal on the street.
Police vehicles and emergency workers are still at the scene of the incident, and police have temporarily closed traffic on the street until they have cleared the area of the chairs and rocks.
“Around 13:15, a fight broke out on Jerolima Mileta Street in Šibenik. None of those involved in the fight wore any of their club features, and so far four people have requested medical help. The police continue to work to find all the participants involved in the conflict and the reason for this incident,” added Marica Kosor.
Sanja Jakelić, director of the Šibenik hospital, said that eight people sought medical attention. None of the patients is in life-threatening condition. Four came in first, followed by four more, and everyone is being treated for minor injuries, Jakelić told Šibenskiportal.hr.
