Ćorić and Čilić have both advanced to the finals of ATP tournaments!
Croatian tennis player Borna Ćorić placed in the final of the Halle Open ATP tennis tournament after Spaniard Robert Bautista Agut handed over the match after 24 minutes at 3:2, while Marin Čilić defeated Nick Kyrgios 7:6 (3), 7:6 (4) in the Queen’s Club semifinal for a place in the final on Sunday, reports Tportal.hr on June 23, 2018.
Ćorić, who is ranked 34th in the ATP list, will play in the final against the world number one and most celebrated tennis player in the world - Roger Federer. The Swiss tennis player placed into the final after eliminating American player Denis Kudla. Ćorić and Federer have played each other twice so far, and Ćorić has lost both times.
Borna Ćorić has not lost a single set this week in Halle, and his duel with Federer will be a rematch of the 2018 Indian Wells semifinal where Federer celebrated, though he ultimately lost in the final to Juan Martín del Potro. Sunday’s final will be the fourth in the Croatian player’s career where he will try to get to his second ATP title.
Like last season, Marin Čilić will play in the Queen's Club final. Marin’s excellent week continued this Saturday with a win against Nick Kyrgios who he broke with two tie-breaks. On Sunday, Čilić will try to win this tournament for the second time in his career. Čilić won the Queen's Club Championships in 2012 after the famous final against David Nalbandian when the Argentinian was disqualified for kicking a lines official.
