Sandra Perković’s winning throw received 32 points, which was four more than the second-placed Perez and eight more than the third-placed Caballero.
Sandra Perković, the world's best female discus thrower, has secured her fourth win in the Diamond League competition this year, and for the triumph at the London Olympic Stadium, just one correct throw for 67.24 meters was enough for the win, reports Gol.hr on July 22, 2018.
This is the first time this season that Sandra has failed to set a new rally record in the Diamond League. In London, her 2016 record (69.64 m) remained.
Perković celebrated in front of two Cuban discus throwers. In the second series, Yaime Perez threw 64.63 meters, while Denia Caballero threw 63.91 meters.
Perković’s throw thus secured 32 points, which was four more than the second-placed Perez and eight more than the third-placed Caballero. The final competition in this year's Diamond League will be held on August 31 in Brussels.
The competition in London was the last test for Perković before the European Championship in Berlin, where she will hunt for a record fifth consecutive title of European Champion.
