Croatian basketball team manager Dražen Anzulovic published a list of players for the continuation of the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
In the last week of August, on Wednesday, August 29, the Croatia men’s basketball team will meet in Zagreb and head to Sveti Martin, the already traditional preparation base of national teams of all ages, reports Gol.hr on August 22, 2018.
After their away wins in June against Italy and Romania, the Croatia national basketball team is expected to advance to the third round of the World Cup qualifiers. Already on September 14, starting at 20:15, Croatia will play Lithuania in Osijek, and three days later, the team will head to Gdansk, Poland to close this qualifying round.
On September 5, fans will have the first opportunity to see the national team in a friendly match against Slovenia played at the Arena Varaždin at 20:00.
Coach Dražen Anzulović decided to give his confidence in the following players:
Josip BILINOVAC
Bojan BOGDANOVIĆ
Domagoj BOŠNJAK
Mate KALAJŽIĆ
Filip KRUŠLIN
Jakov MUSTAPIĆ
Hrvoje PERIĆ
Darko PLANINIĆ
Ivan RAMLJAK
Krunoslav SIMON
Rok STIPČEVIĆ
Dario ŠARIĆ
Karlo ULJAREVIĆ
Ivica ZUBAC
Tomislav ZUBČIĆ
Ante Toni ŽIŽIĆ
“Croatia head coach Drazen Anzulovic will have the most firepower Croatia had since the start of their FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 European Qualifiers campaign, as the big three now become the big five,” said the FIBA website.
“The triple threat of Bojan Bogdanovic, Dario Saric and Ivica Zubac is joined by another NBA player in Ante Toni Zizic, and Krunoslav Simon, who is making his comeback after the ankle injury that kept him off team in June and July. Croatia, 3-3 heading into the Second Round, will be without another two NBA players in Dragan Bender and Mario Hezonja yet they look impressive on paper,” concluded FIBA.
