Dario Šarić Talks Life in Minnesota, Performance: "I'm a Man in the End"

By 7 December 2018

Dario Šarić played yet another modest match in the Minnesota jersey.

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Charlotte Hornets 121:104 on Thursday, where Dario Šarić played 21 minutes and scored eight points (shots in play 3/8, three-pointers 2/3) and added seven rebounds and one assist, reports Gol.hr on December 6, 2018.

Since arriving in Minnesota, Šarić has played 11 games, all coming off the bench. Šarić is currently hitting an average of 10.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and one assist in the Wolves jersey - which are the lowest numbers in his NBA career to date.

''I'm a man in the end. When I miss three in a row, I start worrying about what's wrong, but I have to keep playing. Whether it's maximum performance or zero of five. It's the only mentality you can play with if you want to get somewhere and if you care. Otherwise, you fall deep,” said Dario Šarić to Sportklub.

“We got into the dressing room and the coach turned to us and said the defense is bad and there are a lot of holes. It was difficult to play this way, we needed more energy. We needed one percent more. In the second half we started to play better defense, and when the players are better defensively, they have a better chance at attacking and it is more entertaining,” added the former Sixers player after a match against Charlotte.

Šarić also commented on his performance in the NBA.

"Of course, maybe this doesn’t work for other players. Sometimes I think ‘Come on, man, just one basket’. I’m working on shooting without the pressure of whether I should shoot or have to score, but to shoot just for that shot and that ball. Rebounds are very important in the new era of basketball. If you do not rebound in the offense, it is very difficult to play,” said Šarić, adding:

"When you have offensive rebounds, it's easier to create opportunities and score baskets. I think I bring it from Philadelphia because it is the club that had the biggest number of rebounds in the NBA league last season. We came with 6.7 offensive rebounds and of course it is easier to play and that you’ll get better results right away,” concluded Šarić.
