Mario Mandžukić Officially Signs New Contract with Juventus

By 4 April 2019

Former Croatia national team player Mario Mandžukić has finally removed all doubts about his career after Juventus. It’s official, Mandžo has signed a new contract with 'The Old Lady' until 2021.

While there has been a lot of speculation for several months surrounding Mandžukić and whether he would extend his contract at Juventus, even though media reports claimed the Croatian star received rich deals from China, we finally have a clear answer, reports HRT on April 4, 2019.

The experienced attacker has thus received wonderful recognition from Juventus, as the Slavonski Brod native will turn 33 years old on May 2nd. Although not officially confirmed, Sky Sport Italia reported that Mandžukić would earn5.5 million euro per season plus bonuses under the new contract, which is an increase of 1 million euro in comparison to his previous contract.

Mandžukić has worn the Juventus jersey since 2015, with 43 goals scored and 19 assists in 159 caps. This season alone, Mandžo has netted nine goals in all competitions, pushing Juve closer to another Serie A title and the Champions League quarterfinal against Ajax to be played this month.

It also helps that Mandžo is part of the Juve power trio consisting of Cristiano Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala.

The Croatian attacker has already won three Serie A titles and three Italian Cups with Juventus, who are currently in first place in the Italian championship, 18 points ahead of Napoli in second. Juve has also only lost once all season.

Mandžukić came to Juventus from Atletico Madrid in the 2014/2015 season, playing for Bayern (2012-2014), Wolfsburg (2010/2011) and Dinamo before his Serie A move. For the Croatia national team, with whom he won the silver at the World Cup in Russia last year, the 32-year-old played 88 games.
