Stipe Miocic Getting Rematch He's Been Waiting for Against Daniel Cormier

Stipe Miocic will have the chance to wear the UFC Heavyweight Champion belt once again.

Stipe Miocic finally has a chance for revenge! Namely, a rematch against Daniel Cormier has been officially confirmed and will be held on August 17 in Anaheim, California at the UFC 241 show, reports Gol.hr on May 5, 2019.

Thus, Miocic will get what he deserves, and what he’s been after since July last year - he will fight Daniel Cormier, the man who took away his UFC Heavyweight Championship title at the UFC 226 last summer. Recall, Light-Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier ended Miocic's record-breaking reign in the UFC.

Instead of giving Miocic a rematch, Cormier went on to defend his heavyweight crown against Derrick Lewis, and then hoped to secure a fight against Brock Lesnar. However, Lesnar announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.

Stipe expressed his desire to prove that he is the most successful UFC Heavyweight Champion in history, and he has waited long enough. The fight between Miocic and Cormier will take place in the heart of California in the middle of summer. Stipe Miocic has the fight of his career in front of him; it is the fight where he can confirm his top spot in the UFC world and justify everything he has done in his career to this point. If he is to experience another defeat against Cormier, he will hardly be able to say he is the best in UFC history. If he is able to get revenge, it will be hard for anyone to challenge him.

Recall, Miocic successfully defended his title against Alistair Overeem, Junior dos Santos and Francis Ngannou, which remains the most title defenses in UFC heavyweight history.

August 17th is D Day.
