By 3 August 2015

Ivica Tucak – We can beat them!

Water-polo tournament at the FINA 2015 World Championships in Kazan, Russia has reached the quarter-final stage and Croatia is one of the 8 teams continuing their quest to win the coveted gold medal. While the Croats earned a direct placement into the quarter-finals as the first placed team in their group, their next opponent Montenegro had a tough nut to crack in Kazakhstan before finally breaking away in the third period and on to a 12 – 8 win.

Croatian head coach Ivan Tucak commented on the upcoming game against always tough and unpredictable Montenegro "We're in for a very tough match but all quarter-final matches are difficult. We are aware that we are playing against the silver medalists from the last World Championship but we have a very good team and we are entering this game highly motivated and ready. All our players are healthy and I am sure we have a good chance of winning”.

Croatian captain and one of the best goalies in the world Jospi Pavić agrees with Tucak “ I expected Montenegro in the quarter-finals. In terms of quality we are very similar and details will decide the game. We know each other very well and we will have to give it our all to make it to the semi-finals”.

Croatia will play against Montenegro tomorrow at 16:30. Other quarter-final games: Greece – Australia, Hungary – Italy and Serbia – USA.
