Hajduk off to the Czech Republic

By 7 August 2015

Europa League draw

Hajduk can breathe a sigh of relief, UEFA draw in Nyon was as merciful as it was for Dinamo. After dodging bullets such as RB Salzburg, Fenerbahce and Bordeaux, players can start preparing for a 1200 km trip to the Czech Republic, Liberec to be more exact, since their next opponent is last year's 12th ranked Czech club FC Slovan Liberec.  Only bad news, and this one goes out to the supporters, Slovan Liberec's stadium can only seat 10 000 spectators.

Minutes after the draw we contacted Josip Španić, Hajduk's assistant coach and of course, his first comments were very reserved " We have every reason to be happy with the draw, however we have to be careful. Czech players are known for their quality and persistence, they play every game until the very last second, but I think we stand a good chance of winning".

First leg will be played in Liberec on August 20th while the second leg in Split is scheduled on August 27th.
