Serbian President to Meet with Families of Missing Croatian Soldiers

ZAGREB, February 16, 2018 - Families of Croatian soldiers listed as missing from the 1991-1995 Homeland War and associations of civilian war victims will meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić next week and seek information from Serbian archives that might shed light on the fate of their loved ones, the Croatian Federation of Associations of Families of Missing Soldiers and Prisoners of War announced in a statement on Thursday.

Journalists Criticise Vučić’s Disrespectful Behaviour

ZAGREB, February 14, 2018 - The Croatian Journalists' Association (HND) on Wednesday deplored the visiting Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's  disrespectful refusal to answer questions from the press about his speech in the Croatian town of Glina in 1995 when it was under the occupation of the Serb rebel forces, and the HND says that Vučić's  behaviour amounts to the pressure on reporters, which is unacceptable in a democracy.

ZAGREB, February 14, 2018 - Southeast Europe rests on the peace between the Croat and Serb peoples and nothing is more important than that, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said in Zagreb on Tuesday, adding that he believed in the two peoples having a future together, while Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović said that a lasting and open dialogue between the two countries was of the utmost importance and that it was a path into the future.

Vučić’s Visit Divides Croatian MPs

ZAGREB, February 13, 2018 - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić's visit to Croatia on Tuesday elicited numerous comments and political assessments by members of parliament already at the start of the parliament's sitting, with Social Democrat (SDP) Bojan Glavašević saying that "Croatia was humiliated yesterday" while Miro Kovač of the ruling HDZ party recalled that Vučić was a legally elected president but noted that "our neighbour will not be able to join the European family" before all outstanding issues between the two countries were solved.

Serbian President Meets with Catholic and Orthodox Leaders

ZAGREB, February 13, 2018 - The Archbishop of Zagreb, Cardinal Josip Bozanić, met in Zagreb on Monday with the visiting Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and his host, Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, and discussed with them relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Serb Orthodox Church. The meeting with Bozanić was organised as part of Vučić's two-day official visit to Croatia.
