Croatia Supports Increase in Contributions to EU Budget

ZAGREB, February 23, 2018 - Croatia is supportive of the "Spitzenkandidat" concept, that is the lead candidate process, for the election of the European Commission President, and is generally supportive of increasing contributions to the European Union budget, however, Zagreb opposes the automatism for possibly making cohesion funding dependable on the rule of law, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said in Brussels on Friday where he was attending an informal meeting of 27 member-states' leaders.

New Agrokor Administrator to Be Nominated Soon

ZAGREB, February 22, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said at a government session on Thursday that consultations were under way to appoint a new emergency administrator for the heavily indebted Agrokor food and retail conglomerate, and that the government would very soon propose to the Commercial Court the person to succeed Ante Ramljak, who resigned as Agrokor's emergency administrator on Wednesday, as well as his deputy.

Ramljak to Stay until Appointment of New Agrokor Administration

ZAGREB, February 21, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Wednesday that the process of emergency administration and talks on a settlement in the ailing Agrokor food conglomerate would continue, that the government was conducting consultations so that it could recommend the appointment of a new emergency administration to the Commercial Court, and that, until then, Ante Ramljak would continue doing his job.

ZAGREB, February 13, 2018 - Commenting on his talks with visiting Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić on Monday, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said that it was important to him that Croatia dealt with issues dating back to the time of the breakup of Yugoslavia, the time of the aggression of the Slobodan Milošević regime against Croatia and occupation of a part of its territory, "which prevented and slowed down the country's development and integration with the EU and NATO."
