March 10, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as four Ryanair Pula summer flights have been announced, and Brussels Airlines returns to Zadar Airport. 

Irish low-cost airline Ryanair will operate on four international routes from Pula Airport this summer. Namely, these are direct flights to destinations in Austria, Belgium, Poland, and the United Kingdom, reports Croatian Aviation.

The first line to London (Stansted Airport) will run from March 27, twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays. From June 2, the third weekly flight is added, on Tuesdays, with this flight schedule remaining in force until the end of September. Two-weekly flights have been re-announced for October, with the last Ryanair flight to London on October 27. 

B937-800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 seats have been announced to London. A total of 29,862 seats are available between London and Pula on this Ryanair line.

The very next day, March 28, the line for Brussels Charleroi will start operating, with Ryanair announcing three weekly flights, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, until October 28. B737-800 aircraft have also been announced on this route, with a total of 35,154 seats between Charleroi and Pula.

From June 1, the new Ryanair line between Pula and Vienna will start operating twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, until September 28. A320 aircraft have been announced on this route.

On June 3, the last, fourth line to Pula, from Poznan, Poland, will start operating. Flights have also been announced twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, until September 30. Between Pula, Poznan, and Vienna, the Irish airline is offering a total of 25,200 seats this summer.

On the four announced routes to Pula Airport, Ryanair offers a total of more than 90,000 seats (90,216), and with an average passenger cabin occupancy of 86% (data for February 2022), this airline could bring over 80,000 passengers to Pula this summer.

Belgian airline Brussels Airlines is introducing a scheduled flight between Brussels and Zadar in the upcoming summer flight schedule, reports Croatian Aviation.

The seasonal route between Zadar and Brussels was introduced by the Belgian national airline in the 2018 summer flight schedule, but the line was not in operation during the last two seasons due to the pandemic.

Although it did not announce the line in its initial summer announcement, Brussels Airlines subsequently released tickets for this line, which will start operating on May 7.

The flights will run once a week, every Saturday, and are currently scheduled until the end of the summer flight schedule (October 29). The A319 aircraft with a capacity of 141 seats will operate on the route. 

With the return of Brussels Airlines to Zadar Airport, Zagreb Airport remains the only destination in the country to which this airline has not returned after the lockdown in Europe. Zadar Airport, in addition to the Brussels Airlines line, also has a flight to Charleroi in the summer schedule, operated by Ryanair.

January 19, 2022 - The latest flight news to Croatia as two Polish Lot Zadar lines will return this summer, and Brussels Airlines Split and Dubrovnik flights have been announced from April. 

Polish national airline, LOT Polish Airlines, will resume traffic between Zadar and Rzeszow, the largest city in southeastern Poland, in the upcoming summer flight schedule, reports Croatian Aviation.

Namely, LOT has announced on its official website that the Zadar-Rzeszow line, a city in southeastern Poland with just under 200,000 inhabitants, will return this summer. This route was introduced by the Polish airline in the summer of 2020, and regular operations also took place in the summer flight schedule in 2021.

Flights between the two cities will run once a week, every Saturday, starting on June 18, and the Polish airline plans to use DashQ400 aircraft with a capacity of 78 seats.

In addition to the regular route from Rzeszow, LOT Polish Airlines will operate to Zadar Airport on a regular route from its main hub - Warsaw.

Flights between Warsaw and Zadar should start on Saturday, April 30. Larger capacity aircraft, such as the Embraer E195, which has a total of 112 seats will operate on this route.

Like other airlines, LOT Polish Airlines is currently working on finalizing the summer flight schedule, so in the coming weeks, we will know the official 2022 summer flight schedule. 

Furthermore, Croatian Aviation reports that Brussels Airlines has announced its 2022 summer flight schedule, which includes two Croatian airports - Split and Dubrovnik. 

Although the airline was expected to increase the number of weekly rotations to Croatia, judging by the published schedule for the summer season, this will not happen.

Namely, the Brussels - Split - Brussels line has been announced from Saturday, April 23 to the very end of the summer flight schedule, Saturday, October 29. Two flights a week are currently announced on Saturdays, both on Saturdays, offering 642 seats on its A319 and A320 aircraft on a weekly basis between the two cities.

The Brussels - Dubrovnik - Brussels line is on sale from April 2, and flights are announced once a week, also on Saturdays. Unlike flights to Split, the route to Dubrovnik should run until October 1. Airbus A319 aircraft with a capacity of 141 seats in the passenger cabin has been announced between Brussels and Dubrovnik.

Brussels Airlines has previously confirmed that it will not return to Zagreb International Airport, which was expected given that Ryanair has introduced a regular route between Brussels Charleroi Airport and Zagreb, and Croatia Airlines operates from the main Belgian airport from Zagreb. This year, Brussels does not plan to operate to Zadar Airport, but only to keep seasonal operations to Split and Dubrovnik.

May 4, 2021 - The latest flight news to Croatia as Brussels Airlines flights to Dubrovnik and Split resume from June, while Zagreb and Zadar are no longer in the Belgian national airline's network of destinations. 

Croatian Aviation reports that although the Belgian national airline and Lufthansa group member Brussels Airlines previously announced the reintroduction of scheduled flights this summer from the Belgian capital to four Croatian airports; Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar, and Zagreb, the lines to Zagreb and Zadar are no longer on sale and the company will not operate to the two mentioned airports in the summer.

The company confirmed that they intended to resume the routes to four Croatian airports, but the assessment of the market analysis determined that the demand for Zadar and Zagreb airports will be insufficient this summer season. For this reason, the routes from Brussels to Zadar and Zagreb have been withdrawn from sale and Brussels Airlines will not operate on them this year.

Brussels Airlines has a codeshare contract with Croatia Airlines, which operates regularly between Zagreb and Brussels, so tickets on this route can be purchased on the Brussels Airlines website. With one stop in Zagreb, it is possible to travel to Zadar airport.

However, just like last summer season, Brussels Airlines will soon resume traffic on routes from Brussels to Split Airport and Dubrovnik Airport.

The Brussels - Split - Brussels line will be in operation from Saturday, June 5. The company currently plans only one flight a week on this route throughout the summer season.

The Brussels - Dubrovnik - Brussels line has been announced from June 1, once a week, on Tuesdays, and by mid-June, the company will introduce a second weekly flight, every Saturday.

November 9, 2020 - The latest news for flights to Croatia as Brussels Airlines plans three Croatian destinations next summer.

Croatian Aviation reports that in the 2021 summer flight schedule, Brussels Airlines plans to operate to three Croatian destinations. 

Namely, the Belgian national airline, which normally operates to more than 100 destinations worldwide, plans to operate to Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik next year.

In the summer flight schedule, which ended at the end of October, Brussels Airlines operated to Split and Dubrovnik.

The line to Split started operations at the beginning of July, while the line to Dubrovnik was in traffic from June 27. Both lines operated with reduced flights compared to 2019. The airline temporarily canceled the lines to Zagreb and Zadar, and they did not operate this summer season.

The Brussels Airlines route to Zagreb was introduced in 2015, while the route to Zadar was introduced in the summer of 2018.

In the summer flight schedule next year, Brussels Airlines plans to operate from its headquarters in Brussels to Zagreb, Split, and Dubrovnik. The line to Zadar is currently not for sale.

The Brussels - Zagreb line will operate from March 28 to October 29, 2021, 5 times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday.

The seasonal line to Split should operate from the end of April (April 24), while the Brussels - Dubrovnik line will operate from May 1 next year. 

The return of Brussels Airlines to Zagreb next spring is good news for passengers who want to continue their journey to several destinations in Europe with this airline. Until March 2021, direct flights from Zagreb to Brussels are available with the national airline - Croatia Airlines.

June 3, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik, and Zadar.

As we announced earlier, Lufthansa will fly from Frankfurt to Dubrovnik and Pula from the end of June. However, Croatian Aviation announced today that the company published a modified flight schedule to destinations in Croatia, according to which Lufthansa normally operates in the summer flight schedule.

In addition to the reintroduction of the Frankfurt-Dubrovnik route, Lufthansa will operate again on the Munich-Dubrovnik route from June 20, once a week, every Saturday. A larger number of weekly flights is expected from the beginning of July when the company could fly on both routes (from Frankfurt and Munich) daily to Dubrovnik.

Lufthansa is returning to Split Airport, connecting this city with Frankfurt and Munich.

From June 20, the line Munich - Split will be introduced, once a week, every Saturday, and from June 27, the line Frankfurt - Split, also once a week, on Saturdays. As is the case with Dubrovnik, a number of weekly flights to Split Airport is expected from July.

On routes to Split and Dubrovnik, Lufthansa will use aircraft from the A320 family (A319, A320, A321) in accordance with the demand and booking on each flight. Smaller aircraft will be used on the route from Frankfurt to Pula.

Likely, the company will not launch other routes to Croatia (Zadar and Rijeka) in June, while the Munich-Zagreb route will most likely be launched by Croatia Airlines, with which Lufthansa has a code-share agreement.

Furthermore, Brussels Airlines previously announced that it would not fly to Zagreb and Zadar this summer season, but has retained the option of launching flights to Dubrovnik and Split.

Croatian Aviation reports that the airline announced a plan to resume regular operations to European destinations from June 15, and from June 27, the destination network will include the Brussels - Dubrovnik line.

The company will operate on the Brussels - Dubrovnik line twice a week, every Tuesday and Sunday, on an A320 aircraft with a capacity of 180 passengers in the fleet of this carrier.

The company plans to introduce regular flights on the Brussels - Split route from July, and at the beginning of next month, the company will increase the number of weekly flights to Dubrovnik (probably to four weeks). The flight schedule of this company for July has not been finalized yet, and when it is confirmed, we will publish the details.

Croatian Aviation also reports that Spanish airline Iberia has announced the resumption of its flights to destinations in Europe as well as those in the US. Among others, the company has included the Madrid-Dubrovnik route in its schedule.

The company normally operates to Zagreb, Zadar, Split and Dubrovnik from Madrid in the summer flight schedule, but in July, according to current announcements, it will only launch a line to Dubrovnik.

From mid-July, Iberia will operate on the Madrid-Dubrovnik - Madrid route 3 times a week, and announces daily flights from the beginning of August. The company has previously announced larger aircraft, the wide-body A332, but, likely, this type of aircraft will not be used on the route to Dubrovnik Airport this summer season, given that demand will be lower than planned before the pandemic.

The route will be operated by A321 aircraft, which has a capacity of 200 passengers in the Iberian fleet.

The company confirmed to us that the flight schedule for July has not yet been finalized, so the possibility of introducing lines from Madrid to Zagreb and Split is left, while the line Madrid - Zadar is expected from August.

Finally, Avio Radar reports that Czech airline Smartwings announced the resumption of flights on June 10. The first flight announced that day is from Prague to Split. The flight to Split will be followed by the launch of other routes, mainly to Greece and Bulgaria. 

The Prague-Split route will run twice a week in the first week, on Wednesday and Saturday. The second week of traffic will see an additional flight introduced on Monday, and from June 24, the line will operate daily. The Prague-Dubrovnik line has been announced from July 1, every day. From Poland, lines from Katowice and Warsaw to Split are on offer once a week, on Thursdays, from June 18. 

Charter lines are also planned, namely Ostrava-Split, on Saturdays from June 13 and Polish destinations Gdansk, Katowice, Poznan, and Warsaw to Dubrovnik from June 25 once a week, on Thursdays. 

Boeing 737-800 aircraft will fly on the routes, and smaller Boeing 737-700 aircraft or larger Boeing 737-900s can also fly. 

ZAGREB, May 26, 2020 - This summer, between Belgium's national carrier, the Brussels Airlines, will gradually increase the number of destinations to which it will fly, and among them, there are four Croatian cities - Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, and Zadar.

The company stated that this summer, due to the coronavirus pandemic, it would realise only 30% of its originally planned summer flight schedule.

From June 15 to August 31, Brussels Airlines will gradually add destinations to their flight schedule, ultimately flying to 59 destinations in 33 European, African, and US destinations.

The list includes four Croatian destinations: Zagreb, Split, Dubrovnik, and Zadar. The schedule includes 45 European destinations in 20 countries, 13 African, and one in the USA, the JFK International Airport in New York.

The booking systems are currently being updated, and the process should be completed by the end of the week, the company stated in the press release.

The flight schedule for the period after this summer will be published at the beginning of June. The company hopes that it will be able to realise 50% of its initially planned flights until the end of the year.

May 21, 2020 - The latest news from around Croatia’s airports for flights to Croatia with updates from Zagreb, Zadar, and Split.

Croatian Aviation reports that Brussels Airlines announced on Tuesday that in its current summer flight schedule, it would not fly to two destinations in Croatia - Zagreb and Zadar.

The company decided to cancel all unprofitable lines, as well as those bordering on profitability (in Spain, France, Portugal, Germany, Greece), which led to the cancellation of two lines to Croatia.

For now, Brussels Airlines will keep the Brussels-Split and Brussels-Dubrovnik routes on sale, while the routes to Zadar and Zagreb have been withdrawn from sale.

The Brussels-Zadar line was introduced in May 2018 as a seasonal line, while the line between Brussels and Zagreb was introduced in 2015.

On the route between Zagreb and Brussels, there will still be the option of a direct flight, as Croatia Airlines operates between these two cities twice a day in the conditions of normal air traffic.

Furthermore, Ex Yu Aviation announced that Eurowings would grow its presence in Croatia, but at reduced frequencies.

Namely, Eurowings will add services to the Croatian coast by resuming flights from Stuttgart, Hamburg and Dusseldorf to Split.

Its Cologne-Zagreb service, which has been maintained throughout most of the coronavirus pandemic, will be reduced from two to one per week in June. The lines from Hamburg and Dusseldorf to Rijeka, Dusseldorf to Pula and Cologne to Zadar will resume once per week on June 20.

“We can feel the growing desire of people to travel again and relax and enjoy their holidays after a long period of travel bans. This is exactly what we are now making possible with our extended summer schedule – reliably, safely and with all due caution. Travelling, whether private or professional, will be possible again," said Eurowings’ CEO, Jens Bischo.
