ZAGREB, March 2, 2018 - The proceedings initiated by the appeals of the Austrian company Strabag and of a consortium comprising Italy's Astaldi and Turkey's IC Ictas against Hrvatske Ceste's decision to entrust the Chinese consortium China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) with the construction of Pelješac Bridge can be brought to a completion in two to three weeks, the chairman of the State Commission for the Supervision of Public Procurement Procedures, Goran Matešić, said at a business conference in Zagreb on Friday.

ZAGREB, January 30, 2018 - Chinese Ambassador to Croatia Hu Zhaoming said Monday he was not surprised by appeals submitted by companies which competed in a tender for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge in which a Chinese consortium led by China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) was selected as the most favourable bid, adding however that he was surprised by their arguments which in his opinion are "unfounded."
ZAGREB, January 20, 2018 - Croatian police have uncovered two "call centres" for computer fraud in the wider Zagreb area and arrested four persons, two Croatian and two Chinese nationals, on suspicion that they have engaged in human trafficking since last September, held at least 59 Chinese nationals in confinement and used them for computer fraud targeting their compatriots.
ZAGREB, January 19, 2018 - The EU-China Tourism Year 2018, aimed at strengthening cooperation between China and the EU in the field of tourism, was officially inaugurated on Friday in Venice with numerous officials from EU countries, the European Commission and China in attendance, including Croatia's Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli who said that Croatia expected more tourists from China this year.
More tourists from China are expected in Croatia and in neighbouring countries.
A Chinese consortium has recently been selected for the construction of the Pelješac Bridge.
Seven bids have been received for one of the most important infrastructure projects in Croatia.
More tourists from China and Korea are expected.
