EU Funds to Help Alleviate Poverty in Osijek

ZAGREB, May 8, 2018 - A project of the Rijeka Ljubavi (River of Love) charity from Osijek to alleviate poverty in the Osijek area has been approved and a 5.04 million kuna grant from the Fund for European Aid to the Most Deprived has been earmarked for it, it was said in the eastern city.

Croatia Used Just 6% of EU Funds Available for Water Infrastructure

ZAGREB, April 2, 2018 - The director general of the Hrvatske Vode utility Zoran Đuroković said on Monday Croatia had absorbed five to six percent of the European Union funds allocated for the municipal water infrastructure but that he expected all funds to be absorbed by 2023, when the financial period for spending the funds ends.

Billion Euro from EU Funds for Croatia’s Water Projects

ZAGREB, April 2, 2018 - Croatia has 1.050 billion euro in European Union funds at its disposal for the water sector in the 2014-20 period, as part of which the government is ready to implement 25 municipal water projects while the approval of nine is pending, Environmental Protection and Energy Minister Tomislav Ćorić said.

Contractor Selected for Major Railway Project

ZAGREB, March 23, 2018 - Swietelsky d.o.o. of Zagreb has been selected to modernise and electrify the railway line between Zaprešić and Zabok, a project worth 614.4 million kuna, of which 85% is co-financed by the EU, the HŽ Infrastruktura rail company announced on Friday.

EU Grant Agreements Worth 182 Million Kuna Signed

ZAGREB, March 9, 2018 - Seven grant agreements, worth 182 million kuna in total, were signed at the Ministry of Regional Development and EU Funds on Friday. The agreements relate to e-services, healthcare, welfare and emergency response programmes for war-affected and economically deprived areas. 161 million kuna, or 87 percent of the total amount, will come from EU funds, the Minister of Regional Development and EU Funds Gabrijela Žalac said.

Government Promoting Major Projects in Slavonia

ZAGREB, February 24, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Saturday progress had been made in the contracting and realisation of projects as part of the Slavonia, Baranja and Srijem Project, adding that it was necessary to strengthen the fiscal capacities of local government and combine the use of the state budget and European Union funds to create a framework for keeping young people in the Slavonia region.
