Croatia Among EU Members with Largest Decline in Debt

ZAGREB, July 20, 2018 - At the end of the first quarter of 2018, Croatia's public debt totalled 281.3 billion kuna, a share of 76.2% in its GDP, which was 6.4 percentage points less than in the same period the year before, show statistics released by the EU's statistical office Eurostat on Friday.

Croatian Foreign Minister Attends Council of EU Meeting

EU Approves Public Funding for Ferry Connections between Islands and Mainland

ZAGREB, July 12, 2018 - The European Commission has approved 250 million kuna to ensure regular ferry connections on certain routes between Croatian islands and the mainland, saying that the public funding will contribute to the connectivity and development of the islands without unduly distorting competition in the single market, the Commission said in a statement on Thursday.

Croatia to Join Schengen and Eurozone in Next Five Years

ZAGREB, July 2, 2018 - The next five years of Croatia's EU membership will be marked by two goals, joining the Schengen and euro areas, while the Pelješac bridge will symbolise the first five years, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said on Monday at a conference on the first five years of Croatia's EU membership. "We have set ourselves two goals on the European journey. Schengen first, the euro area second. They will mark the next five years of membership," he said.
