ZAGREB, August 15, 2018 - Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Tuesday said that his cabinet would convene in the town of Hvar on 26 October and that the meeting would focus on measures aimed at improving the quality of life on Croatian islands. "We want to mark 150 years of the organised tourist service on Hvar and in late October, Croatian Tourism Days will take place on Hvar, too," Plenković said adding that the cabinet meeting on that southern Adriatic island would also be dedicated to the tourist trade and development of Croatian islands.
The decision was made at an extraordinary session of the government.
ZAGREB, July 21, 2018 - The Croatian government has dismissed as incorrect and malicious insinuations recently made in the public which create a false impression that the state does not have money for medicines for children, but it does have money for a national stadium, the government said in a press release on Saturday, adding that those claims were not based on facts and recalling that this year the state would allocate approximately 1.3 billion kuna for particularly expensive medications, an increase of 85% from 2015.

ZAGREB, June 14, 2018 - The government on Wednesday rejected President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović's initiative to participate in Croatia's chairmanship of the European Union, telling Hina the prime minister represented Croatia in the European Council, but welcomed the possibility of the president contributing to the chairmanship programme.
ZAGREB, June 12, 2018 - Demography, Family, Youth and Social Policy Minister Nada Murganić said on Monday that the population policy measures that President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović presented earlier in the day were in line with the government's programme and that the government Council for Demographic Revival would examine the measures. "We carefully watched the president's presentation... We will examine the material when we receive it at the Council for Demographic Revival," Murganić said.

ZAGREB, May 29, 2018 - President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović said in Rome on Tuesday that the government had undertaken only partial demographic measures and that Prime Minister Andrej Plenković hadn't yet responded to her invitation to hold a joint cabinet meeting on that issue. "I haven't received a response. We spoke generally about it and agreed that we would continue talking and I am expecting his response," the president told reporters.
