ZAGREB, August 27, 2018 - A 172.3 million kuna European Union grant will be invested to equip day hospitals and outpatient surgeries in nine hospitals in Croatia and an agreement to that end was signed on Monday by EU Funds Minister Gabrijela Žalac and Health Minister Milan Kujundžić.
ZAGREB, August 22, 2018 - The Health Ministry has said it is intensively working on the absorption of EU funds for projects involving combined emergency wards, day hospitals and outpatient surgeries, that it has been very successful in contracting funding in 2016-18, and that it currently manages 1.5 billion kuna worth of projects contracted as part of the 2014-20 Operational Programme Competitiveness and Cohesion.
ZAGREB, August 21, 2018 - Health Minister Milan Kujundžić has said in an interview with the Večernji List daily that he will ask that members of parliament Željko Jovanović of the Social Democratic Party, and Ines Strenja Linic and Božo Petrov of the MOST party be stripped of their medical licences for their statements made following the death of 21-year-old Matteo Ružić, who died in the street in Zaprešić, just west of Zagreb, on August 12 while waiting for an ambulance.
ZAGREB, August 21, 2018 - The cause of death of 21-year-old Matteo Ružić, who died in the street last week in Zaprešić, just north of Zagreb, was asthmatic bronchitis and an undiagnosed heart defect, officials of the Ministry of Health reported on Monday presenting the results of an autopsy conducted by the Zagreb-based Institute for Forensics and Criminology.

ZAGREB, August 16, 2018 - A death of a 22-year-old man in Zaprešić this past Sunday, who passed away despite first aid from an ambulance staff, provoked strong reactions in the public and among the opposition that insist that the first aid system failed given that the ambulance team did not include a doctor.
The activist was protesting the recent death of a young man in Zaprešić.
On Sunday, a young man died in Zaprešić near Zagreb because there was no emergency medicine team available to help him. The town, county and medical authorities have been trying to blame each other for the fact that a town with tens of thousands of inhabitants has just one physician on standby.
