August the 31st, 2022 - Croatia osiguranje's (insurance) LAQO has introduced cryptocurrency payments on its webshop, making it the first insurance company in all of the Republic of Croatia to enable this type of payment.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the owners of cryptocurrencies can now buy Compulsory and Kasko car insurance, completely digitally, in a simple, quick and smart way on the LAQO website. This innovation was introduced in cooperation with the well-known Croatian fintech company Electrocoin, and payment with cryptocurrencies takes place through their electronic payment service PayCek, which guarantees security to customers.

As many as thirteen different cryptocurrencies can be used on the LAQO webshop - bitcoin (BTC), bitcoin cash (BCH), ether (ETH), ripple (XRP), EOS, stellar lumen (XLM), DAI, tether (USDT), USDC, binance USD (busd), saltwater (SOL), dogecoin (DOGE) and litecoin (LTC).

"LAQO is the first insurance company in the Republic of Croatia to introduce payment with cryptocurrencies, which has brought us even closer to our more digital users, offering them a completely new shopping experience. As a digital insurance brand, we continuously introduce innovations which take care of the community in which we operate and encourage a wave of innovation throughout the market, and we're preparing even more news soon," said Ana Zovko, Director of the Digital Development Sector of Croatia osiguranje.

The cryptocurrency payment option can be selected at the end of the insurance purchase, where a list of available cryptocurrencies is provided. When choosing the option of paying with cryptocurrencies and accepting the conditions, the amount in kuna equivalent is displayed where you need to enter your email and select the desired cryptocurrency. After choosing a cryptocurrency, the customer can then scan the QR code with their crypto wallet, and after making the payment, they will receive a confirmation email.

LAQO osiguranje is a digital brand of Croatia osiguranje, which operates as part of the Adris Group, and in its current offer offers car insurance which can contracted in just a few clicks on their website. The introduction of cryptocurrency payments is just one in a series of LAQO innovations, another one being LaqoPrevent, a digital platform that uses telematics technology to promote responsible behaviour when on the road.

Croatian Startup Amoda and Croatia Osiguranje Offer Driver Rating

March the 25th, 2021 - The Croatian startup Amoda and Croatia Osiguranje (Insurance) have teamed up to offer a driver rating service with rewards to users.

As Bernard Ivezic/Novac writes, Croatia Osiguranje, the largest insurer in the Republic of Croatia, was the first to introduce a driver rating here on the Croatian market. On its Laqo mobile app, it has added new functionality that tracks the way a driver drives and then rates it. The brand new service, called LaqoPrevent, is the result of cooperation with the Croatian startup Amoda, which two years ago was named one of the five best InsurTech startups in the world by the highly respected Financial Times (FT).

Davor Tomaskovic, President of the Management Board of Croatia Osiguranje, says that their goal with this cooperation with the Croatian startup Amoda is to promote and reward driving safety and that is why they started the first such prevention programme here in Croatia.

"Laqo has recently become one of the strongest digital brands on the Croatian insurance market, and with the LaqoPrevent programme, we're going one step further and contributing to raising the overall level of safety in society. We'll promote and reward responsible behaviour in all aspects of life, starting now with traffic safety,'' stated Tomaskovic.

He didn't enter into any discussions about financial indicators, despite that, Croatia Osiguranje revealed that the new Laqo website was visited by more than a million people in just five months and that their calculator for calculating the price of insurance through Laqo was tested out by 125,000 people.

Ana Zovko, the director of the digital development department at Croatia Osiguranje, explained that vehicles can be secured through Laqo, but within LaqoPrevent, using telematics within the app, users can track different aspects of their ride. They can track their speed, braking mode and mobile phone usage while driving. For positive practice while driving, she noted, Laqo will reward them.

"The programme rewards good drivers, so the users with the best grades will be provided with exclusive additional coverage when contracting a new insurance policy, because we want our customers to know that we're their partner which systematically works on accident prevention,'' said Zovko.

Marijan Mumdzijev, the executive director of the Croatian startup Amodo, explained that they have developed a piece of technology that allows for the monitoring and generation of a driver rating, which is used by LaqoPrevent.

"It's a great pleasure to be a part of this project, although Amodo has users all over the world, to do something like this in ''your own backyard'' is of special importance to us and we're glad to have found a partner who, like us, isn't only ready to follow global trends, but to actually go out there and set them,'' he said.

It's also worth mentioning that the innovative solution developed by the Croatian startup Amodo is used by the largest American insurer AIG among others, followed by Triglav and P&V.

Moja Croatia: Croatia Osiguranje Launches New Mobile App

As Novac writes on the 3rd of July, 2020, Croatia Osiguranje, a digital leader on the Croatian insurance market, recently launched a new mobile application called My/Moja Croatia. The new application has been developed with a focus on simplicity, efficiency and speed of use. With its functionalities and interactive interface, Moja Croatia raises the experience of clients in the use of this company's insurance to a new level.

The Moja Croatia application (app) enables a simple overview of all insurance and digital health cards in one place. Bill payment and policy renewal is possible in just a few clicks. It is quick and easy to report damage and also to monitor its resolution status.

The application is available for free installation on Android and iOS devices, and only an ID card and email address are needed to log in to Moja Croatia application. Full registration, the simplification of which was given special attention during its development, is now possible in just one minute, without additional data, shelf numbers or other documents that the client usually doesn't simply have on hand.

In addition to digital health insurance cards, the new Moja Croatia application also includes the Good Opportunity loyalty programme, the numerous benefits and discounts of which can be readily used at over 500 points of sale of Croatia Osiguranje's partners throughout the Republic of Croatia.

"Today's top apps are being developed on a thorough understanding of the behaviour and psychology of advanced users and on the speed and intuitiveness of the user interface. We've applied all this in the design of our mobile application, which we're proud to launch on the market. Our idea is to show the market that insurance can be extremely simple and that almost all information on pieces of paper and plastic can be replaced by digital solutions. We're sure that our clients will also recognise the advantages of the new Moja Croatia app. In the future, we see insurance as highly digitised, simple and understandable for customers, so we're continuing to develop our digital services to provide customers with the best customer experience,'' said Davor Tomaskovic, President of the Management Board of Croatia Osiguranje.

After a significant investment back at the end of 2019 in a new core system that fundamentally modernises business and customer service, and the launch of a brand new website this spring, the new mobile application is seeing the company make new steps forward in digitising its services and modernising the overall insurance offer here on the domestic market.
