ZAGREB, April 30, 2018 - The European Commission will not find any violations of European Union law by Croatia, as claimed by Slovenia in its complaint concerning the border arbitration ruling, and if Ljubljana takes the case to the Court of Justice of the EU, Zagreb will know how to respond, Andreja Metelko-Zgombić, state secretary at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, said in an interview with the N1 television channel on Monday.
ZAGREB, April 25, 2018 - At the end of a summit meeting of the Southeast Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) held in Slovenia's resort Brdo Pri Kranju on Tuesday and attended also by Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković, Slovenian Prime Minister Miro Cerar did not rule out the possibility of blocking Croatia's entry into the Schengen area if Zagreb doesn't agree to implement an international arbitration ruling on the two countries' border dispute.
ZAGREB, April 21, 2018 - The President of the European Union Court of Justice Koen Lenaerts has expressed doubts about the legal path Slovenia has chosen after it sent a letter to the European Commission announcing a lawsuit against Croatia regarding the two countries border arbitration process, stressing that the best solution is for Slovenia and Croatia to present the case to the EU Court of Justice in agreement.
ZAGREB, April 18, 2018 - Croatia has sent a written response to the European Commission following a complaint by Slovenia that it is in breach of EU law because it does not recognise the border arbitration ruling, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Marija Pejčinović Burić said in an interview with the HRT public broadcaster on Tuesday evening. "We have had until today to send our response and we have done so. I think we presented valid arguments in response to their letter," she said.
ZAGREB, April 18, 2018 - The Slovenian government on Thursday will make the first compensation payments to its citizens who live in Croatia in border areas which Slovenia considered contentious before the arbitration ruling and who wish to resettle in Slovenia under favourable conditions they were promised by Prime Minister Miro Cerar.

ZAGREB, March 31, 2018 - Croatia did not have the right to walk out of the border arbitration procedure, whereby it caused problems to Slovenia as well as to the EU and its role in the Balkans, Slovenian Foreign Ministry state secretary Iztok Mirošič has said, speaking of the reasons why Slovenia had decided to take "legal steps", a likely lawsuit against Croatia.
ZAGREB, March 20, 2018 - Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Marija Pejčinović Burić reiterated in Brussels Croatia's position that the border dispute with Slovenia was not the issue of the European acquis communautaire and Slovenia had neither grounds nor reasons to initiate proceedings against Croatia at the Court of Justice of the European Union "for allegedly breaching EU law."
