ZAGREB, March 1, 2018 - Europe is turning more and more to health and medical tourism as it sees this sector as an opportunity to compensate for the decline in international tourist arrivals in Europe caused by stronger arrivals in other regions, notably Asia, it was said at the 8th Health Tourism Industry (HTI) conference in Zagreb on Thursday.

Croatia continues to be among the favourite destinations for German travellers.

ZAGREB, February 25, 2018 - Tourists visiting Croatia in self-organised trips accounted for two thirds (56 million) of the total number (86.2 million) of overnight stays registered in the country during 2017, and they also accounted for 64% (11.1 million) of the overall number of arrivals (17.4 million) last year, according to figures released by the national statistical office (DZS).

ZAGREB, February 23, 2018 - The Croatian National Tourist Board (HTZ) is promoting the Croatian tourist trade at the most important Bavarian travel and leisure fair, f.re.e, in Munich this week, the HTZ said on Friday.

About 120 million euro is invested annually in rooms, apartments and houses, and 130 million euro in additional facilities.

The 2018 Belgrade Tourism Fair opened on February 22, 2018, bringing together all the tourism boards and agencies of the wider Mediterranean region and beyond, but there was one very notable absentee - Croatia.

Depending on the source, the number of tourists who visit Croatia differs by a million and the number of overnight stays by incredible 16 million.

ZAGREB, February 21, 2018 - Plava Laguna on Tuesday signed several agreements and an annex to the collective agreement whereby salaries of employees of that Poreč-based hotel company would increase by 7% on average.

ZAGREB, February 20, 2018 - State Assets Minister Goran Marić said on Monday that disused state-owned property should be activated as soon as possible to boost growth and employment.

Approximately 4,000 employees will be covered by the raise.
