The Ministry of Tourism has launched a number of new projects for 2017 - including changes to tourist laws - expecting that this year will bring positive trends in tourism. 

This year's investment cycle for Croatian tourism will bring many newly landscaped walking trails, beaches, and bike paths...in addition to 50 new or completely reconstructed hotels.

Seasonal jobs include a number of occupations that are in demand, for which employers will already begin searching for potential candidates early this year. MojPosao, the leading portal for advertising job vacancies in Croatia, has conducted a survey to see just how many of us in Croatia are interested in working in the tourism sector. 

"We expect that the upcoming year will also be a record year, and the Ministry of Tourism expects growth at the level of 5 percent," said State Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism Frano Matušić during the fourth session of the Tourist Business Council at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, held on 21 December. He added that they are ambitious and will be working on legislative amendments to improve the infrastructure in tourism, reports HRTurizam on 24 December 2016.

Croatia just had a record tourist season, but in order to achieve this development strategy until 2020, every year should be a record year. On the one hand we have a chance to attract plenty of tourists as the fear of terrorism has shied many away from places like Greece, Turkey, and Egypt, but on the other hand, each of our outbound markets has its own characteristics, with their political or economic crises playing a large part in their good will. Germans are wary of migrants, earthquakes have shaken Italy, and Russians are troubled by an economic crisis. What makes the most sense is that the Austrians have, most importantly, a “safety destination”, while the French and the British are to announce a new air service next summer ... On the upside, the forecasts are looking good, and that has been confirmed by representatives of the Croatian Tourist Board throughout Europe.

Croatia is experiencing an investment boom in tourism despite the less than optimistic political situation.

The number of Chinese tourists in Croatia is rapidly growing, this year they are expected to go over 300 000 overnight stays.

Quality of swimming waters at Croatia’s tourist destinations keeps rising.
