Namely, HRTurizam reports that the rich offer of 160 Croatian general, artistic, technical, archeological, historical, ethnographic, natural, and other types of museums were visited by more than 5.5 million foreign and local lovers of museum exhibitions in 2018, according to the Museum Documentation Center.
To make the most of Croatian cultural heritage, FlixBus and a dozen museums in Zagreb and Split have presented the Flix & Art project with exclusive benefits on tickets or souvenir shops and discounts on their next FlixBus trip. Therefore, if you're visiting for a one-day or weekend visit to Zagreb or Split, lovers of travel and exploration can enjoy unique and different experiences of permanent exhibitions and other exhibitions of selected museums and galleries.
FlixBus discounts are 10% to 50% off when you purchase a ticket on a museum to museum basis, and a Flix & Art booklet will be created with a listing of all museum amenities and instructions.
The following museums are included in the Flix & Art project: Nikola Tesla Technical Museum, Croatian Museum of Naive Art, Museum of Contemporary Art, Mimara Museum, Museum of Hangovers, Museum of Arts and Crafts, Croatian Museum of School, the Ivan Mestrovic Museums in Zagreb and Split, Museum of Senses in Split, and the Croatian Maritime Museum Split.
Don’t forget, Museum Night will be held across Croatia on Friday, January 31, 2020. This year will be the fifteenth edition of the event that began in 2005 with several Zagreb museums. Over the past few years, it has become the most significant event in Croatian museums.
This year, Museum Night is commemorating two major anniversaries: the 200th anniversary of the Split Archeological Museum, founded in 1820, and the 140th anniversary of the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb, founded in 1880.
Thus, the theme of Museum Night 2020 will be an opportunity for Croatian museums to once again remind the general public about the importance of 'museum history, present and future'. Communicating various content to the public - from museum collections, professional, scientific, educational and entertaining content to virtual tours of museum exhibits, historical buildings and protected heritage sites, and digital technologies have opened up unprecedented possibilities for presenting the museums.

December 21, 2019 - As integrated transport occupies an increasingly important place in the future of sustainable driving and becomes an alternative to using passenger vehicles, the more transport providers see the future precisely through cooperation. Like the latest project between Flixbus and Croatian Railways.
HRTurizam writes that this step into the future was also confirmed by the first collaboration between the leading European bus carrier and the national rail passenger transport. FlixBus and HŽŽ (Croatian Railways) have networked to their advantage and now, European destinations like Vienna, Rome, Paris or Prague are closer to destinations like Bjelovar, Sisak, Zabok or Koprivnica.
In recent years, FlixBus has developed the largest international bus network with over 400,000 daily connections in 30 countries. By collaborating with HŽ Passenger Transport, an additional 70 destinations from Central Croatia are included in this global network with almost 170 daily departures.
Thanks to this collaboration, travelers can now plan their trip to the most desirable European destinations by combining train and bus rides. Those traveling by train from or to Zagreb from Sisak, Bjelovar, Križevci, Koprivnica, Zabok, Krapina and Karlovac and everywhere the train passes can travel directly to 10 European countries such as Germany, Italy or France with one ticket for both carriers. Available combination destinations and tickets can be found today on the free mobile app and the FlixBus website and at the ticket office of the Sisak railway station.
“From the outset, the mission of FlixBus is to provide everyone with a comfortable and easy journey. Smartly connecting different transport models is crucial in carrying out this mission. Cooperation with Croatian Railways is the next step in the future of integrated travel and an easy journey for all,” said Ante Grbeša, Director of FlixBus CEE South.
Traveling by train is the most environmentally friendly and sustainable in the long run. Accordingly, Croatian Railways focuses its development policy on business and social goals based on the principles of sustainable development. By adapting to the challenges of mobility and increasing the quality of service, they promote integrated transport, which improves the movement of the population to improve the quality of life of citizens.
"The introduction of integrated regular transport creates added value and citizens will be able to use one ticket for train and bus transportation. This type of transport is part of positive European practice and we believe that we will soon offer it in other major cities. Using public transport relieves the city roads, so I hope that citizens will be satisfied with this service and use cars less,” said Željko Ukic, President of Croatian Railways Board.

With this new cooperation, FlixBus passengers will be able to taste some of the best local chocolates on March 2nd and 3rd.
"We are glad that with FlixBus, besides many beautiful destinations, anyone who tries our products will be guided and introduced into the world of carefully selected Croatian chocolates and the flavors that they carry with them. In addition to trying some of our chocolates, passengers will be able to order chocolates via online sales immediately,” said Fran Reizl, head of Vrsna chocolates.
These famous hand-made chocolates fused with local ingredients such as lavender, honey or flower salt will greet FlixBus passengers on the road this weekend. Ruby chocolate, the latest buzz in the chocolate world that first appeared in Croatia thanks to Vrsna chocolates, with milk and dark chocolate, will be in the selection of chocolate delicacies.
This initiative not only showcases excellent cooperation but is a win-win situation. On one hand, Croatian products, the small local economy, and the tourist offer are being encouraged and promoted, while FlixBus passengers have added value.
