Croatia marks the 23rd anniversary of Operation Storm.
ZAGREB, August 4, 2018 - President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović on Saturday attended the unveiling of a monument at Ljubovo, near Gospić, commemorating 68 local Croatian soldiers and police killed in Operation Storm during the war of independence 23 years ago.
ZAGREB, August 4, 2018 - On the occasion of Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of War Veterans, observed on August 5, Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković on Saturday extended a message of congratulations underscoring that soldiers' determination in the fight for Croatia's freedom was a signpost for the strengthening of an organised and advanced society which offers equal opportunities to all, adding that such a society would not have been possible had it not been for Operation Storm.
ZAGREB, August 4, 2018 - Operation Storm, a joint military and police operation that ended a Serb armed rebellion in August 1995 and restored Croatian sovereignty over occupied central and southern parts of the country, enabling peaceful reintegration of eastern Croatia in January 1998, started 23 years ago today.

ZAGREB, August 1, 2018 - The eastern Croatian town of Dalj on Wednesday commemorated the 27th anniversary of the death of 39 Croatian soldiers killed by Serb rebels, supported by the former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA). In the massacre, 20 Croatian police officers, 15 soldiers and four Civil Defence members lost their lives.
ZAGREB, July 31, 2018 - The Youth for Human Rights initiative on Tuesday called on President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović and Prime Minister Andrej Plenković to apologise for the crimes committed during and after the Storm military operation, assessing that politicians' stance on victims was deteriorating by the year.
ZAGREB, July 6, 2018 - Croatia's Supreme Court has reduced the 15-year prison sentence to 13.5 years for Dragan Vasiljković aka Captain Dragan, wartime commander of a Serb paramilitary unit, for war crimes committed against Croatian soldiers and civilians during the 1991-1995 war of independence.
If only the Croatian economy could achieve similar rates of growth.
