Vukovar Defenders Day Marked

ZAGREB, March 10, 2018 - Defence Minister Damir Krstičević said on Saturday that the eastern town of Vukovar was a symbol of resistance, defence and victory in the Homeland War, and paid tribute to all Croatian defenders, saying they deserved credit for the fact that the people of Croatia live in peace and freedom.

Serb Paramilitaries Indicted for 1990s War Crimes against Croats

ZAGREB, March 10, 2018 - The Zagreb County Prosecutor's Office has indicted eight commanders and 14 members of Serb paramilitary units for war crimes against 20 Croatian civilians and two POWs committed in September 1991.

Veterans Associations Will Keep Banned Ustasha Slogan

ZAGREB, March 8, 2018 - A few Zagreb- and Split-based associations of 1991-1995 Homeland War veterans and victims on Thursday criticised the guidelines made by the Croatian council for dealing with the consequences of the rule of undemocratic regimes that banned the Ustasha salute "For the homeland ready", except in commemorative purposes, whereas the Communist Red Star, which those veterans perceive as a symbol of the Serbian forces that launched a military aggression against Croatia in the early 1990s, is tolerated.

Serbian Companies Will Not Get Back Their Prewar Property in Croatia

ZAGREB, February 23, 2018 - The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that Serbian companies do not have the right to claim back their prewar property in Croatia, dismissing as unfounded a lawsuit filed by the Belgrade-based Mladost Turist company, which claimed back from Croatia its real estate in Tisno on the island of Murter.
