ZAGREB, April 15, 2018 - The Croatian Party of Rights - Dr Ante Starčević (HSP AS) said in a statement on Saturday that it had not nor would it form a coalition with the DESNO party and that it would launch disciplinary proceedings against HSP AS vice-president Vlatka Vukelić who has announced such cooperation with DESNO leader Anto Đapić.
ZAGREB, April 14, 2018 - The right-wing political project DESNO, which brings together members of the political party the Democratic Alliance for National Renewal (DESNO) and the Croatian Party of Rights – Dr. Ante Starčević (HSP AS), was presented at a press conference in the eastern city of Osijek on Saturday.
The current Prefect of Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Nikola Dobroslavic, will remain in his position.
New MEPs will replace Andrej Plenković and Davor Ivo Stier who resigned after they entered Croatian government.
After HDZ yesterday decided against forming a national coalition, HSP AS breaks all links with HDZ.
It is expected that many of the current HDZ partners will not be invited to join the party for the elections in September.
The right-wing HSP AS is reportedly ready to abandon HDZ, and vice versa.
With less than two months until early parliamentary elections, HDZ meets with smaller parties.
The right-wing party gives HDZ 48 hours to decide whether they want to continue their cooperation.
Unsurprisingly, the Culture Minister advocates for continued cooperation of HDZ with right-wing party HSP AS.
