ZAGREB, September 26, 2018 - The City of Zagreb has absorbed about 150 million euro over the past four and a half years and the latest project to be financed with European funds is the roundabout in the suburb of Remetinec, Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić said on Tuesday.
''I don't need it because I've already got one, but the citizens [of Zagreb] need it.''
ZAGREB, September 6, 2018 - The trial of Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić in the case dubbed "public stands" started in Zagreb on Thursday, with Bandić pleading not guilty to charges of enabling a nongovernmental association to use public stands for collecting signatures for a referendum petition in a non-transparent manner, and as such, allegedly defrauding the city budget of approximately 40,500 euro.
Zagreb's mayor Milan Bandić has refused to apologise for the eyebrow-raising remark that many have deemed to have been sexist.
ZAGREB, August 28, 2018 - Zagreb County Court decided on Tuesday that a trial against Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić will commence on 6 September in the case dubbed “public stands”, in which he is charged with enabling a nongovernmental association to use public stands for collecting signatures for a referendum petition in a non-transparent manner, and as such, allegedly defrauding the city budget of approximately 41,500 euro.
The only other Croat to receive the honour is footballer Ivica Olić.
The total value of all of the works will be about five million kuna.
ZAGREB, August 11, 2018 - The Croatian Journalists Association (HND) said on Friday that statements which Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić made when addressing Nova TV reporter Ivana Pezo Moskaljov were inappropriate and could not be tolerated, calling on public figures and politicians to stop insulting and attacking reporters whose job is to ask questions that are of public interest.
ZAGREB, August 8, 2018 - The leader of the Labour and Solidarity Party, Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandić, said on Wednesday that Croatia needs essential reforms that the government should have the courage to implement and one of those means to introduce a property tax, adding that his party won't support the tax reform but that it is not poised to bring down the government.
