German national airline Lufthansa landed the Embraer 190 yesterday at Pula airport to establish the new route between Frankfurt and Pula.
The new runway should help increase the number of passengers at the airport.
The successful 2016 tourist season helped bring in 8.1 million air passengers, who mostly arrived to Croatia during the summer months.
The airport is scheduled to reopen on 10 March.
Over the summer, Istria will have even more direct connections with London.
