September 23, 2020 - We know that Split's best steakhouse should be all about the beef, but what if the grass is also greener on the other side? Dig into the seafood side of Chops Grill in Split!
As we move into a new season where comfort food is king, it's good to remember that we're able to keep the lightness of summer fare in Split year-round, as seafood truly reigns us all.
However, you may not think that some of Split's best seafood would be found and Split's best steakhouse.
We're here to prove you wrong.
The seafood offered at Chops Grill takes restaurant-goers on an adventure of flavors, textures, and temperatures, from cold starters to rich, bold, and brimming-at-the-seams-with-flavor mains.
Let's begin our ride through the seafood side of Chops Grill.
For starters, choose from a scampi & shrimp pate, bruschetta topped with mozzarella, tomatoes, pesto, and the option to add shrimp or salmon, and last but not least, a chilled and tart tuna carpaccio with shallots, rocket, pomegranate, and citrus.
For those looking for something with a bit more substance, to begin with, a light and fresh apricot risotto served with a pea cream is your best bet.
However, the real stars of the show are the seafood mains, where an explosion of flavors makes you forget meat even existed in the first place.
Staying true to Dalmatian cuisine, the fisherman's choice linguine is prepared 'buzara' style with shrimp, shells, and the freshest fish available. Salmon lovers can enjoy a grilled filet served with chickpeas, beans & spring onion salad, and mango dressing.
While you can't go wrong with the sea bass filet in a red paprika sauce, served with a vegetable carpaccio, or the grilled local bluefin tuna, the beautifully firm, lean, bright-white, mild, and sweet grilled monkfish, soaked in a truffle sauce, is a delightful, delicious, dangerously good option you won't be sorry you chose.

July 9, 2020 - As borders open and tourism resumes, it's up to us to do our part to ensure a safe environment in the post-lockdown world. Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar is setting an example in Split.
Croatia has imprinted their name amongst the list of countries that fought COVID-19 head-on and established measures early to protect and provide a secure state. Luckily, their work paid off, and citizens and visitors are able to roam and enjoy the solace of summer freely.
However, the 'new normal' is well and truly here. As we regain our footing post-lockdown, we must all do our part to guarantee the most corona-free environment we can. One way to do that is by adhering to measures, whether it's keeping a social distance or wearing a mask.
One admirable example comes from Zinfandel Food & Wine Bar in Split, whose encouraging words confirm that while Split and Croatia are safe to visit, we must all come together to make sure it stays this way.
"Our safety is your safety!" What a wonderful message to send to the world from Split, Croatia. Remember, we are all in this together.

June 27, 2020 - Split Restaurant Zrno Soli is the first restaurant in Croatia to be certified COVID-19 safe by Adriacert.
Dalmacija Danas reports that leading auditors of TÜV adria and Adriacert, i.e., project leaders Ph.D. Damir Ježek and quality control Joško Bekavac and other associates of the Exquisite Quality platform, on behalf of Adriacert, awarded the SARS-CoV-2 certificate of technical safety measures to restaurant Zrno Soli in Split. This certificate confirms that Zrno Soli operates in accordance with the highest standards and guidelines following legal health care measures and the Act on the protection of the population from infectious diseases and related ordinances, decisions, instructions and recommendations of the Croatian Institute of Public Health and other competent bodies and institutions.
A detailed independent review established that all measures were taken for safe operation during the COVID-19 pandemic, and their strict adherence was ensured, with emphasis on the adoption and implementation of best practices and standards, while maintaining quality communication with restaurant guests.
All restaurant guests must disinfect their shoes at the entrance with a special mat and should disinfect their hands. In addition, there are mini disinfectants on the tables that the guest uses during their visit to the restaurant, and can take them with them, too. The restaurant is cleaned and disinfected several times during the day, both in the hall and in the kitchen. In addition to cleaning and disinfection, spacing was implemented between the tables, according to the recommendations of the Civil Protection Headquarters, and the tablecloths are changed after the departure of each guest, as is the practice already.
The obtained certificate is further proof that Zrno Soli prioritizes its guests, their well-being, protection and safety.
Adriacert Ltd. is an international certification body that covers Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Kosovo and Montenegro, giving top-level professional certification services to raise business capability.

June 23, 2020 - As we say hello to summer, we must say goodbye to the favorite Chopsylicious menu at Chops Grill in Split.
Summer is officially here after it felt that spring had no end - and with the coronavirus measures mostly lifted in Split, we can get out to enjoy the summer sunshine.
Because any excuse to eat out, and eat outdoors this season is a good one, we're here to tell you about one promotion you'll need to run to, to make sure you don't miss out until next season.
We've told you a thing or two about the cherished Chopsylicious menu at Chops Grill, which offers mix-and-match three-course menus at Split's favorite steakhouse for stellar promotional prices. However, with summer in full swing, Chops is gearing up for something new, and this springtime-favorite menu is around for just one more week.
So, why is this menu THAT good, you might ask? Let us enlighten you.
For starters, guests can choose from a selection of Vichyssoise soup of leek and potato, tuna belly carpaccio with shallots and a rocket salad with pomegranate and citrus, the crispy Panzanella salad with skuta cheese and whole grain mustard dressing, or steak tartar.
For instance, the supreme chicken is served with seasonal vegetables and potato puree, while the beef, vegetable and plum skewers are accompanied by potato wedges. The grilled rump steak is filled with bacon and cheese, while you can never go wrong with the classic T-bone steak. However, we think the real star of the show is the beef wellington, wrapped in mushroom, onion, foie gras sauce and fresh black truffle. For only 210 kuna, you'll be hard-pressed to find a dish this good for this cheap anywhere else in Split (locals, we're looking at you).
And because no meal is complete without dessert, Chops has pulled out all of the stops, offering guests the fruits of forest crème brûlée, semifreddo, chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream or the traditional rožata (egg flan) with lavender, rose, and Chantilly cream.
Are you convinced, yet?
This is your chance to try some of the best Chops has to offer before the menu morphs into summer mode, though we promise you'll want to be a part of that, too.
Chops Grill is now open every day from 12 pm to 11 pm.

June 20, 2020 - Split restaurants Kadena, Zoi, Zrno Soli, Dvor, Konoba Trs in Trogir and Konoba Jeny in Tucepi have received a Michelin recommendation, while Konoba Trs and Solta Island's Konoba Škoj received the Michelin label Bib Gourmand.
Slobodna Dalmacija reports that a total of 70 restaurants from all over Croatia are included in the Michelin guide for 2020, which has enriched the Croatian gastro scene with seven new local restaurants bearing the Michelin recommendation.
"Congratulations to all the restaurants from Split-Dalmatia County that deserved the prestigious Michelin awards. We are proud that top Croatian restaurants are our long-term partners and that with their skills and dedication to the top experience of their visitors, they have earned a place in the Michelin guide.
The quality of Croatian restaurants is confirmed year by year by Michelin awards, and we at METRO are extremely glad that the cooperation with the Michelin guide allows us to be a part of the success of top Croatian restaurants in this way as well.
In the current circumstances, when caterers face business challenges, Michelin awards can contribute to positioning Croatian restaurants on the gastronomic map of excellence and that is why I am glad that METRO can further support the promotion of Croatian gastronomy in this way," said Ivana Verunica, director of METRO center in Split.
METRO is a longtime partner of the Michelin guide, which is an international reference for fine-dining and recommends more than 30,000 restaurants in 30 countries.
Split's Konoba Fetivi is also included in the Michelin Guide for 2020, and was first included in the list back in 2018.

May 13, 2020 - The wait is over... Chops Grill is back in business with a tempting three-course menu!
On Monday, May 11, the National Civil Protection Headquarters allowed Croatian caterers the right to serve their beloved followers again - and as you can imagine, the news was welcomed with open arms.
All of us who missed indulging at our favorite restaurants in Split or sipping coffees in the sun on the Riva are now fully back in action, though, of course, in a much more careful capacity.
Disinfectants are king today, but if that's what it takes to win a seat back at Chops Grill, its safe to say that we're not thinking twice.
To celebrate their return to the Split restaurant scene, Chops is back with a three-course menu that will have the locals drooling.
For starters, you can choose between a leek and potato soup, tuna carpaccio, panzanella salad with skuta cheese, or beef tartare with toast and butter.
The price of the three-course menu is depicted by the main course you choose (from 135 to 275 kuna). For the non-meat eaters in the group, try the beet risotto with skuta cheese or the seafood linguine pasta.
Those of you partial to chicken can savor in the chicken supreme with mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables and a reduced chicken sauce.
Since Chops specializes in beef, there are a variety of options to choose from, like the beef skewers with vegetables and dried mushrooms, served with roast potatoes, or the 300-gram rump steak stuffed with cheese and pancetta, served with roast potatoes and a blue cheese sauce.
The real winners, however, are the beef wellington, dressed with mashed potatoes and truffles, and the T-bone steak, simply served with roast potatoes.
Because no meal would be complete without dessert, you can choose to end your meal with a creme brulee foam with forest fruits and vanilla, semifreddo, chocolate brownie, or traditional rožata with lavender, rose extract and cream.
What are you waiting for?

The stars of the show are in the main courses of the menu, where you’ll find a rump steak with potatoes, pancetta, and bearnaise sauce, duck breast with a sour cherry demiglace, or a pork fillet wrapped in pancetta.
