Split Half Marathon: A Run Through the Most Beautiful City in the World

By 26 December 2016

Exactly two months away, the Split Half Marathon will take place from the 24-26 of February 2017.

The 17th annual Split Half Marathon is set to kick off in less than two months. An event that began in 2001, the Split Half Marathon was firstly constrained to the Marjan peninsula. Six years later the race then moved down to the popular Riva, and it wasn’t until 2015 that the race began to encompass all of Split - connecting all of the sporting and cultural sites across town.

The route begins along the Riva, through Diocletian`s Palace, past Grgur from Nin and through the city park heading east. The course then continues to Poljud Stadium and Marjan Forest Park where the recreation zone Bene and Oceanographic Institute is located. The final stage of the race passes by the Museum of Croatian Archaeological Monuments and leads to the western part of the Split harbor. The final kilometer of the half marathon is run with an unforgettable view of Split.
