The ”Croatia 365 Gourmet" workshop, which was successfully held in Split yesterday, attracted hundreds of participants.
The first Croatia 365 Gourmet workshop was held in Split at the Hotel Park on June 6, 2017, reports Ministry of Tourism on June 6, 2017.
Organized by the Croatian National Tourist Board and the Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts, the workshop attracted hundreds of participants, which is not surprising considering the speakers were Michelin chefs Lionel Levy and Marco Stabile. Chef Levy, known as the leader of the new Mediterranean cuisine, learned his craft from internationally recognized chefs such as Eric Fréchona and Alain Ducasse, while chef Stabile’s craft is in the finest Italian cuisine - and today he is the head chef at restaurant Ora d'Aria in Florence.
The workshop was also attended by chef confectioner Yoan Dessarzin who works as a master confectioner at Intercontinental Marseille - Hotel Dieu, renowned sommelier Mira Šemić, and Mario Mestrovic, a sommelier with an international ASI degree. The workshop additionally covered the bases of marketing in gastronomy and the successful branding of your restaurant, which was covered by Gabriel Vasquez - a marketing professional who has worked at many restaurants around the world.
Thus, the participants of the workshop in Split received detailed insight into the world of culinary trends, but also in the trends of local cuisine - a crucial part of high gastronomy. The workshop discussed everything from modern confectionery to the management of restaurants and how to promote and improve your business. Some topics even covered Michelin stars and what they mean, how one should achieve them, and how to preserve them. The workshop also included a tasting of dishes and sweets prepared during the event.
The Croatia 365 Gourmet workshop in Split was the first in a series of four workshops that will take place in 2017, organized in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Trade and Crafts. The second workshop is scheduled in Opatija and will be held on June 14th, while the other two will be held in the autumn in Zagreb and Osijek.
All workshops are primarily intended for chefs and have an educational aspect - and the goal of each workshop is to present the highest knowledge in the field of enogastronomy to Croatian chefs and professionals in the area of gastronomy. The concept of each workshop will be the same but will vary according to the speakers, and among them will be top Michelin chefs, sommeliers and marketing professionals in gastronomy.
