38.5°C Measured on Brač, 35°C in Split!

The ongoing heat wave is reaching its peak today. As expected, Dalmatia holds the record temperatures, according to pljusak.com.

At 12:00 today, 38.3 degrees Celsius were measured in Milna on Brač island – the absolute record this summer. The coldest spot was the literal peak of Dalmatia – St. George on Biokovo mountain, with 21.3 degrees Celsius.

It was 35 degrees Celsius in Šibenik, same as in Sinj. 34.5°C were measured in Knin, a bit more than in Split where it was 34 degrees Celsius.

Makarska saw 33 degrees Celsius at noon, Zadar 32.6°C, and it was 32°C in Dubrovnik and Imotski.

Inland Dalmatia will see the highest temperatures today, reaching up to 38 degrees Celsius.

Remember to drink a lot of water these days, and stay out of the sun between 10 AM and 5 PM. It will still be hot enough to spend time on the beach!
