Concerts, Discos, Tangos, and Salsas: Program Announced for 2018 Edition of Split Carnival

By 8 January 2018

The famous Split Carnival returns this February from the 2nd to 13th with loads of events for everyone to enjoy.

We’re less than a month away from one of the most highly anticipated events of the offseason - the Love Carnival of Split!

Now, what is ‘Carnival’ (or ‘Krnjeval’ for the locals) you might ask? Carnival is an annual festival, typically held the week before Lent in Roman Catholic countries, involving processions, music, dancing, and the use of masquerade. In other words, a Madri-Gras-like atmosphere takes over the city of Diocletian for almost two weeks - and costumes are seriously encouraged.

The 2018 edition looks even better than the last, and we’re here to bring you the program so you can start preparing your colorful outfits and dancing shoes for the events your party-heart desires.

It all begins on Saturday, February 3rd, with the opening of the carnival. On this day, guests will enjoy the Carnival wedding, and the keys to the city will be awarded to the honored husband and wife. After the event, visitors can enjoy Zumba on the Riva!

Here’s a look at the rest of the events for the Split Carnival celebration.
