The Croatian National Tourist Board and "Parks of Croatia" created a marketing campaign in April to further position Croatian parks as one of the motives for visiting the country during the pre-season.
The campaign, which was conducted through a video on the Croatian National Tourist Board YouTube channel, was promoted to a total of 22 markets, including distant markets such as the United States, United Arab Emirates, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The promotional video achieved a total of 9.5 million views and nearly 40 million impressions and was also displayed through the social networks Facebook and Instagram where it reached more than one million organic impressions, reports HRTurizam on June 8, 2017.
The campaign was also promoted on television to the domestic market to help familiarize both domestic and foreign tourists about the wealth of flora and fauna in Croatia, as well as the many activities that can be enjoyed in Croatia during the spring.
The benefits of this campaign can be seen through the increased visibility of Croatian national and nature parks, which during the spring were a common choice among both domestic and foreign tourists.
"This is also confirmed through the research regularly conducted by the Croatian National Tourist Board which shows that the rich and preserved natural heritage is one of the most common ways foreign tourists perceive Croatia and Croatian destinations. This fact alone can be one of the key generators to boost tourist traffic, and for example, extend the season,” said the Croatian National Tourist Board.
When looking at the biodiversity of the country, Croatia is amongst the richest in Europe with more than 38,265 species present, of which 1,089 are endemic. Croatia is the third largest in Europe when it comes to the surface and number of flora species, and eighth in the diversity of mammals. Of the five large beasts living in Europe, three can be found in Croatia - the Gray Wolf (Canis lupus), Eurasian Lynx (Lynx lynx) and the Brown bear (Ursus arctos).
An estimated 2.7 million people visit Croatian national and nature parks each year.
The 19 national and nature parks in Croatia can be found under the unified brand “Parks of Croatia” at www.parkovihrvatske.hr.
