By 29 November 2016

After record-breaking results at the height of the tourist season and reaching 3 million arrivals for the first time in history, Dubrovnik, as a leading Croatian tourist brand, continues to record excellent tourist traffic. This year there was even a significant growth in tourist traffic in November, reaching numbers that have never before been recorded during this month.

According to eVisitor, on 26 November in Dubrovnik, there was a record 1,704 arrivals which is six times more than 2015, and 3,347 overnights which is four times more than last year. Last weekend, the majority of guests came from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the US, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and the United Kingdom, reports HRTurizam.

"The first Advent weekend in Dubrovnik was really a record for tourist achievements which have never been recorded before. The city is full of tourists, and it is visible in the old town where guests enjoy a special holiday atmosphere with the advent programs in the city that are part of the Dubrovnik Winter Festival. The number of arrivals were firstly guests from Albania who took advantage of their extended holiday weekends in their own country to travel to our city,” said the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.

Specifically in Albania, on Monday, 28 November the country celebrates Liberation Day, while 29 November is Independence Day. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, their National Day was celebrated on Friday, 25 November. The Dubrovnik Tourist Board targeted these holidays in an effort to promote the holiday weekend in Dubrovnik to these markets, which in turn successfully increased arrivals and overnights, especially by guests from Albania.

Guests were mostly accommodated in Dubrovnik hotels, with increases recorded at Adria, Park, and Radisson. At Rixos, most guests were recorded from Albania, while at Kompas the majority of guests were Japanese, and hotel Valamar recorded most guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina .
