Reconstruction and Extension of the Split Airport Terminal Set to Begin

The reconstruction and extension of the passenger terminal at Split Airport will begin, with the construction led by companies Kamgrad, Viaduct, and KFK Tehnika.

The contract signing of the symbolic work at Split airport will be held during a signing ceremony that will be supported by Minister Oleg Butković, Mayor Zlatko Ževrnja, and Mayors of Kaštela, Trogir and Split, Ivan Udovičić, Ante Stipčić and Ivo Baldasar, reports Dalmatinkski Portal on 6 December, 2016.

 

The value of reconstruction for the project is a little less than 350 million HRK, while the value of the purchase is 370 million HRK. The airport will be reconstructed by the companies Kamgrad, Viaduct and KFK Tehnika.

 

The planned reconstruction entails an expanded passenger building on three levels in a new total of 35,000 square meters. This will increase the total capacity of the terminal to 2,500 passengers at peak hours and provide high quality services.

 

The project also envisages a vertical separation of passengers at both arrivals and departures, operational flexibility to the Schengen regime, and a security screening of checked baggage in accordance with the standards prescribed by the European Union.

UPDATE: The works will officially begin early next year, with the first phase completed in the fall of 2018, while the second phase should be completed in the summer of 2019, announces N1 on 6 December, 2016. N1 also reported today that the project worth is over 450 million HRK.
