Construction Underway on Two Valamar Riviera Luxury Resorts Worth 562m Kuna

Work on the two luxury resorts in Rabac, Istria - the Family Life Bellevue Hotel and Valamar Girandella Resort - are in full swing, and are currently the largest Valamar Riviera investments worth 562 million kuna.

Construction of the two new luxury resorts include 764 rooms with more than 2,700 beds which will certainly reposition Rabac into a leading destination in the luxury category. The site is also considered the largest construction site in Croatian tourism, reports Poslovni.hr on 28 December 2016.

 

Chairman of the Board of Valamar Riviera, Zeljko Kukurin, said that the opening of these two resorts in May next year will open as many as 350 new jobs, and Valamar has already begun to employ new staff.

 

"In these two resorts there will operate more than 620 employees, and in the very construction we included the local construction sector, using 55 percent of local companies and equipment suppliers from Istria," said Kukurin.

 

According to Kukurin, the comprehensive investment project in Rabac includes the complete reconstruction of two resorts with 764 units in 15 buildings, nine themed restaurants and 13 pools. Being built is the Maro Club with more playgrounds for children, two fun centers, and indoor and outdoor fitness and wellness centers. The investment also includes landscaping of the beach promenade and landscaping of the complete zone. The construction site covers more than 15 hectares and is the largest construction site in Croatian tourism.

 

Valter Flego said that every year Istria confirms its leading position in the development of tourism in Croatia.

 

"This is the result of strategic planning and a long-term development direction in which investments like these in Rabac are the best confirmation of the excellent cooperation between the public and private sectors and create a positive business climate," said the Istria County Prefect, adding that the construction of these two resorts daily average around 1,100 workers, which speaks volumes about the size of the project worth more than half a billion kuna.

 

According to the Labin mayor and MP Tulia Demetlika, this major investment project has extraordinary significance for the long-term positioning of Rabac not only as a prestigious tourist destination, but also for the development of this part of Istria.
