VIDEO: Want to Take a Look at the New Brač Airport?

By 10 March 2017

As most of us already know, Brač airport is undergoing a transformation - so what does it look like?

After the Brač airport nearly closed a couple years ago, thanks to new management and a healthy investment, the airport is getting a makeover - complete with runway expansion.

The airport expansion will extend the runway from 1,400 meters to 1,760, enabling the landings of jet aircraft with 150 seats. In January of this year, Tonći Peović - director of Brač Airport - said that the airport should see completion by Easter this year.

The airport has already made an agreement with TUI who will commence a weekly service from Brussels to Brač from May 23, and negotiations are ongoing with a number of tour operators who have an interest in landing at the airport during 2017 and 2018.

Because we are keeping a close eye on all Brač airport news, here’s a look at the new airport in a video sent to TCN by Josip Sočo.

When all is said and done, the Brač airport could see passenger traffic grow in the next year by as much as 60-70 percent, and reach up to 25,000 passengers.
