New for Dalmatia 2017: An UberBOAT Takes to the Water

By 26 April 2017

The transport revolution on the Dalmatian coast continues, and eagle-eyed observers on the Split waterfront may have noticed the first UberBOAT taking to the water on April 25, 2017.

Uber is one step closer to launching their new service UberBOAT in Croatia this summer. Earlier this week, locals in Split caught a rare glimpse of the type of boats that will be used for the upcoming service which is set to launch in June. According to Uber, the boats were being used to film a promotional video which will be made available by the end of May.

UberBOAT is a new type of service which will be launched in Croatia and will run in partnership with existing service providers which are licensed charter or transfer companies whose skippers hold a valid commercial transportation licence. The aim of the service is to provide a fast, reliable and comfortable experience for locals and tourists traveling from the mainland to nearby islands in Croatia while offering tourists an opportunity to explore otherwise hard to reach offshore locations in a seamless and reliable way through the Uber application.
