Thinking of a destination wedding? Consider Istria and head to the Istrian Wedding Festival in Pula to do some research

Croatia is becoming an increasingly popular wedding destination, with most foreign couples flocking to coastal hotspots on the Adriatic to tie the knot. One of the more attractive choices is Istria, a region that offers plenty of stunning wedding venues both on the coast and inland.

Pula is currently hosting an exhibition of wedding photography featuring various locations in Istria. 'TIJARAartNews, Istria wedding destination' was opened on January 13 in the Makina Gallery and features 24 works of Croatian photographers, reports Glas Istre on January 14, 2018.

The selection features works of 11 Croatian photographers: Foto Festival wedding photography, Matija Kljunak Weddings, Gospon Slikar Weddings, Saša Halambek photography, Lukart wedding photography, Šimunić – Pulić wedding photography, Ivančić photography, Indigoblu weddings, Edna Jurcan Photography, Pirowski wedding photography, andWith love from Anushcka. TIJARAartNEWS was opened by the gallery director Hassan Abdelghani; Marijana Dabo Percan of Tijara model & event management presented the programme of the upcoming wedding fair, while Rajko Boričić presented the work on display, stating its quality overcomes the commercial nature of wedding photography and makes for exceptional artwork.

The exhibition was conceived as the introductory event to the Istrian Wedding Festival that will take place on two separate occasions: on Friday, January 19, the Army House in Pula will host a themed runway show that will present 21 Croatian designers. TIJARAsposaNEWS fair will take place at the same venue on the weekend of January 27-28 and feature around 80 wedding service providers.

"SPOSAnews, the Istrian Wedding Festival has grown into a well known event in Istria, Rijeka and the northern Croatian coastland. But its fame of a wedding festival far surpasses the Istrian territory and is today a point of reference for the whole Croatia. This is a renowned event backed up by a recognisable tradition, great public interest and the media: a meeting point which gathers more than 80 exhibitors and 2000 visitors each year", says a statement on their website.
