Following our recent tribute to Lonjsko Polje Nature Park, another mesmerising video highlighting Croatian natural treasures comes our way from Goran Šafarek
Šoderica is a lake situated in Koprivnica-Križevci County, located some 500 metres away from the shore of river Drava. The lake was artificially formed close to the end of the 19th century and has developed into a tourist destination in the 1960s, with multiple hospitality objects operating at the site and a beach spanning over 1500 metres on the northern shore of the lake.
While the tourist activity has somewhat declined in the last couple of decades, Šoderica remains a popular destination for recreation in pristine nature. And then, as soon as winter days come along and gently push the eager visitors away, the lake gets taken over by its seasonal residents. Hundreds of birds flock to Šoderica in winter months, making for a stunning sight that is best described as a magical swan lake.
