Emirates to Grow Winter Operations Between Dubai and Zagreb this Year

By 18 April 2018

The Zagreb and Dubai route continues to be popular among travelers, even in the winter.

Good news for those of you traveling between Dubai and Zagreb this winter as Emirates airlines have decided to boost its operations in the two cities this year. Precisely, Emirates will add two more weekly flights to the Dubai and Zagreb route, bringing the total number of flights to seven in the 2018/2019 winter season, announces Ex Yu Aviation on April 18, 2018.

An additional 80,000 travelers have come to the Croatian capital from the Dubai and Zagreb connection - and this number will only continue to grow in the future. This new winter addition alone will add another 15,000 seats inbound to Croatia in the offseason months. Both the summer and winter routes on Emirates will continue to be operated on the three-class Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

"Emirates is pleased with the reception our product has had in the Croatian market. Passengers out of Croatia are traveling to Dubai, but also to the Far East, Australia and the Indian subcontinent and coming into Zagreb from Dubai and other destinations from Emirates' global network", the company said, and also noted that the airline has recorded better than expected bookings with more passengers flying in first and business class.

"We have a strong team at Zagreb Airport, which is very knowledgeable, and we are working hard to bring in even more passengers and airlines. In addition, Croatia, being a beautiful country that it is, has huge potential and growth in developing as a tourist destination, and that is what we base our expectations on, as well as the development of Zagreb as a tourist destination,” said the Director of International Operations at Zagreb Airport's concessionaire Aéroports de Paris, Fernando Echegaray.

Emirates partner Flydubai also introduced seasonal flights to Dubrovnik this year with Emirates codesharing on the service.
