A month ago, the Friends of the Šćedro island association called for help in raising money for a fire truck. A fire truck, that would be permanently located on the island and thus ready to fight a fire or help in any other way needed.

According to the FB page of the association, the truck will be used in many different ways. Apart from fire-fighting, it can and will be used to water olive trees, to unload materials from boats, to transport goods and materials as needed. The truck can even be used to lift a ship.
A lot is going on at Šćedro these days as heavy machinery left the island 4 days ago after helping to widen forest paths and made new fire ways. Main points on the island are now connected and accessible.
